FUN WITH AESOP’S FABLES

The Town Mouse & the Country Mouse   
July 8-12

Wit and wisdom run amok in our summer camp for Aesop's Fables! The world's best known collection of morality tales, numbering over 700, will be the pool of inspiration for our newest camp addition!

Directors: Dana Braxton-Felder, Laura Agudelo
Time: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 2PM
Final Presentaion: Friday, July 12, at 2:30PM, open to the public.
Cost: $175

After you've paid the camp registration fee, our Education Coordinator will contact you to complete the enrollment process.

LAURA AGUDELO

Laura, a 9th to 12th theatre teacher at Grassfield High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Spanish. In her 13 years of teaching, 8 of those in Theatre, she has earned many awards including Southeastern Theatre Coach of the Year, Hugo Owens Middle School Reading Teacher of the Year, two state championships for her acting company, and most recently was named Chesapeake’s High School Teacher of the year. Directing over 20 productions at the high school level, Laura also works closely with her students in the classroom setting teaching from Pantomime to Shakespeare. Laura also sponsors Troupe 7835 of the International Thespian Society and is one of the coordinators of the CPS Theatre City-Wide Initiative with all the theatre programs in Chesapeake. When not teaching, she is a lead member of the locally and internationally renowned Core Theatre Ensemble. She was most recently seen gracing the Wells Theatre stage as Mrs. Phelps in Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.

DANA J. BRAXTON-FELDER

is an international actress, Theatre Educator and native of York County, VA. She has been performing domestically and internationally for over 15 years. A graduate of Hampton University (B.S) a M.F.A in Acting International (University of Essex-London, England) and Theatre Educator (Collegiate and secondary special education). She has graced the stage in London, Russia, Lithuania, NYC and LA. Ms. Braxton-Felder has worked with VSC for the past two years on their immersive theater projects: The Dream Clinic and Miss Kitty’s House of Cosmic Love.

TERRI GAYER

The performance bug bit Terri at the ripe old age of 3 and she’s made a life in the theatre ever since. She received a BFA in Theatre Performance and Dance from Longwood University in 1999. She has taught high school theatre for 19 years with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, and has directed and choreographed over 60 productions. Terri is still an active performer and can be seen improvising and doing sketch comedy at the Push Comedy Theater, as well as dancing, singing, and acting in regional and local productions-her favorite to date CHICAGO with The Little Theater of Norfolk. She is a member of the Educational Theatre Association and Virginia Theatre Association and works hard as an advocate for the advancement of theatre studies. She is shifting her teaching career to Norfolk in the fall were she will be teaching middle school theatre and is eager to inspire younger minds. She lives in Norfolk with her husband Robbyn and her 2 boys, ages 5 and 7. When she’s not teaching or on stage, she sings in a band, travels the globe, and is an avid hiker.
