I’ll Huff & I’ll Puff: The Absolutely True Story of the Big Bad Wolf
JUNE 3, 2017 AT 11AM & 1PM IN THE WELLS EDUCATION SPACE
Written & Directed by Scott Quirk
You think you know the story. Pigs. Houses. Red Cloaks. Taking baskets to Grandma's house. But you've never heard the real story - until now!
Boss Beulah Bell (a proper Southern pig) is in charge of a little patch of countryside in the Fairytale Woods. But for Beulah, being the star of The Three Little Pigs isn’t enough. With the help of her dimwitted daughter Petaline and a well-intentioned want-ad Wolf, she plans to alter all the fairytales beyond repair.
With the help of the audience, Petaline Prunella Pig and Wyoming Wolf (a.k.a. The Big Bad) vie to stop Beulah in her quest to change the fairytales as we know them into new works, such as “The Little Pig-maid”, “Pig-nocchio”, and “Snow Pig and the Seven Dwarves”.
An engaging and interactive production that will entertain the youngest audience members, the seasoned theatre-goers, and everyone in between!
Chasing Mother Goose
JULY 1, 2017 AT 11AM & 1PM IN THE WELLS EDUCATION SPACE
Written by Jessica Brooke Pinsky
The venerable poet Mother Goose currently presides over a library that houses every piece of literature in existence. Day and night she does her best to keep order and ensure peace among the shelves. But even under her no-nonsense watch, the books have a tendency to get out of hand.
On a seemingly quiet night, the White Rabbit from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland shows up (with the mad Hatter close behind), and when a copy of Moby Dick is returned with pages missing, Captain Ahab arrives to wreak vengeance on the creature that took his leg. Only, the pages that say what type of creature are, well, missing. Which poses a problem for our beloved characters.
Mother Goose and the Hatter have no choice but to comb the other books for Ahab’s missing pages and put him back together before the library opens in the morning. On their way they’ll traverse such works as Treasure Island, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and many more, all the while fleeing the amnesic Ahab on his misguided mission.
A hilariously creative play, rich with audience interaction and touching moments.
