This August, Virginia Stage Company is opening the doors to our costume loft and inviting you to shop the racks. We're making space behind the scenes, which means you get the chance to buy costumes and clothing from our past productions. Think bold characters, timeless vintage pieces, a whole lot of denim, and wearable items that can spice up your everyday look.

From Shakespearean drama to Broadway flair, you never know what you might find. It’s part garage sale, part theatre history, and totally worth checking out.

Whether you're a longtime VSC fan, a costume collector, or just looking to score some affordable and fun fashion, we hope to see you there.

The Virginia Stage Company is holding open in-person Principal Auditions for Members of Actors' Equity with Resident Casting Director, Emel Ertugrul

For the audition: Please prepare a brief monologue of your choice. If you would like to audition for the musical, please also prepare a short song in the style of β€˜JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Audition material may not exceed 2-minutes total.Also, please bring a copy of your headshot and resume stapled together.

In the late evening of May 2, 2025, Virginia
Stage Company received word that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) was withdrawing a $15,000 grant that had been awarded to us to support performances of the mental health-focused play, Every Brilliant Thing, for high school audiences. The NEA’s email explained that our program does not align with new funding priorities, intended to β€œreflect the nation's rich artistic heritage and creativity as prioritized by the President.”
