10 Signs You May Be the Parent of a Theatre Kid

Everyone’s been spending a lot more family time together lately. Maybe you’ve noticed some of the following traits in your theatre kid….

  1. They’re more upset about the Broadway shut-down than canceled sports games

…and they’re not satisfied with the “Grease Sing-a-long” replacing the Tony Awards.

  2. They march to the beat of their own drum (or show tune).

They will sing that show-tune almost anywhere!

  3. You spend weekends taking them to rehearsals or auditions.

You love to see the final product.

  4. They love to read Shakespeare’s plays in English class.

…and are always prepared with the perfect Shakespearean insult.

  5. Family road trips are full of sing-a-longs to Broadway musicals and Disney soundtracks.

They keep telling you to “Let it Go!”

  6. They've used their time in quarantine to mount a full production featuring their siblings and stuffed animals.

    …or stream “Glee” and “SMASH”.

  7. Cleaning their room is always accompanied by monologues.

"To clean or not to clean…..”

  8. They remember the shows they were in more than the classes they took.

They learn a lot from their school productions!

  9. You’ve spent all weekend going to thrift stores and helping them sew the perfect costume.

They’ve helped you tap into your creative side!

  10. They’re dedicated to their craft.
