This year, our Costume Shop Manager and Resident Costume Designer Jeni Schaefer was thrilled to try out our new Singer embroidery machine, so you’ll notice that embroidered details are featured heavily in Schaefer’s costume design for Sense & Sensibility. Embroidery was popular during the “Austen era” (though they had to do it by hand). Check out process the process pics below!
