There’s nothing quite like the first day of rehearsal. The cast gathers around the table, scripts in hand, and suddenly the world of the play starts to take shape. This week, our Emma family met for the very first time, and trust us, the Wells Theatre is about to get a whole lot wittier.
We snapped some photos at the table read (check them out below!), where the actors were already tossing around Austen’s sharp lines and Kate Hamill’s clever twists. Seeing names like “Emma Woodhouse” and “Mr. Knightley” across the pages gave us goosebumps. The story we’ve all been waiting for is finally springing to life.
And it’s not just the words getting us excited. Our design team unveiled stunning costume sketches and set models. Get ready for a world that feels both Regency and refreshingly modern.
