The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Beware the Headless Horseman: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Comes to the Wells
This Halloween, one of America’s most famous ghost stories comes galloping into the Wells Theatre.
Virginia Stage Company is teaming up with Core Theatre Ensemble for a special presentation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, adapted from Washington Irving’s classic tale. And this isn’t your ordinary trip to Sleepy Hollow.
Audience members will take their seats right on the Wells Theatre stage, putting you up close to the action as a cast of six weaves and winds its way through the story in Core Theatre Ensemble’s signature high-energy style.
Ichabod Crane Has a Problem. A Headless One.
Schoolteacher Ichabod Crane has his sights set on the wealthy Katrina Van Tassel. Unfortunately, local prankster Brom Bones has the same idea.
After an evening party, Ichabod begins the long journey home through the darkened countryside. Soon, he realizes he may not be alone.
Is someone following him?
Or something?
With the legendary Headless Horseman close behind, Ichabod has one goal: make it to the bridge before it’s too late.
Featuring song, dance, live sound effects, physical comedy, and plenty of theatrical surprises, Core Theatre Ensemble transforms Washington Irving’s classic into a fast, funny, and delightfully spooky ride.
