"With Your Name Upon My Lips", presented with CORE Theatre Ensemble

Core Theatre Ensemble is an international touring independent theater company based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Headed by Edwin Castillo & Emel Ertugrul, they have been creating original works and performing since 2006. Core has partnered with Virginia Stage Company previously for Peter & the Wolf and the Midsummer Fantasy Festival: Bottom's Dream, Fairy Frug.

Past Core shows include original adaptations of Sophocles' Antigone, Shakespeare’s Othello and Macbeth, Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper, Shelley’s Frankenstein, Rimbaud’s A Season in Hell and selected works of Edgar Allan Poe for their award winning production The Poe Project. Authored pieces include You Vs. and 40 Whacks, a Nightmare, as well as licensed performances of Brecht and Weill’s The Threepenny Opera and Sartre’s No Exit. Core has performed in juried theater festivals and forums in Quebec (’08, ‘09, ’11, ‘12, ‘14), Belgium (’10), Lithuania (’12, ’13, ’15. ‘16), Spain (‘14) and New York City (‘13, ‘14). They have hosted The International Guest Artist Series (’12, ’13) in partnership with The Little Theatre of Norfolk to bring international acts to perform locally and were awarded Best Ensemble of 2013 by Young Audiences of Virginia.

The Hermitage Museum and Gardens is proud to present WITH YOUR NAME UPON MY LIPS, an interactive, immersive and one-of-a-kind theatrical experience and party. Dive into the 1920s with the Virginia Stage Company and the CORE Theatre Ensemble as you explore the twists and turns on the Hermitage home and blur the boundary between reality and illusion. This unique and interactive event uses original letters from the World War I trenches as inspiration and gives participants a new perspective of the Hermitage home. WITH YOUR NAME UPON MY LIPS promises to be an intriguing party and unforgettable experience unlike anything you have seen in Norfolk before.
