Joseph's coat isn’t just fabric.
It’s stitched with the dreams of our community.
Throughout the season, visitors to the Wells Theatre were invited to write or draw their dreams on colorful fabric swatches in the lobby. Audience members, staff, artists, and neighbors all took part... adding their hopes, ideas, and imagination.
Those dreams are now becoming part of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In our costume shop, the swatches are being transformed into Joseph’s iconic coat, piece by piece. What started as a simple invitation has become something much bigger: a costume built from the voices of the community.
“Whatever version you’ve seen, this story for us is about each of you,” says Director of Design and Costume Designer Jeni Schaefer.
By the time the lights come up on opening night, Joseph’s coat will carry the dreams of the people who fill the Wells Theatre.
Your dreams. On stage.
