Virginia Stage Company is excited to welcome Tidewater Winds to the Wells Theatre for a special performance of The Little Prince, based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beloved classic.
Part concert, part storytelling experience, this 40-minute production brings The Little Prince to life through live music performed by Tidewater Winds and two actors who guide audiences through the prince’s extraordinary journey.
After a pilot becomes stranded in the Sahara Desert, he encounters a mysterious young prince from a tiny asteroid. Through stories of a beloved rose, faraway planets, unusual grown-ups, and unexpected friendships, the prince offers a different way of looking at the world and the people we share it with.
Funny, imaginative, and full of heart, The Little Prince is a story for young audiences and for the grown-ups who may have forgotten what it feels like to see the world through a child’s eyes.
The performance is part of Tidewater Winds’ R.i.M.E. (Reading in Music Education) Project, an original program created to bring together literacy, storytelling, and an appreciation for live music.
