Does Your Dog Dream of Being a Star?
Weβre searching for a real-life canine companion to star as Toto in Virginia Stage Companyβs upcoming production of The Wiz on March 18 from 12-2PM at the historic Wells Theatre. No previous acting experience required!
So ease on down to the Wells, bring your puppy pal filled with courage, wisdom, and heart and see if they have the chops to star on the Wells Theatre stage.
Please come with your furry friend prepared to perform their best trick! Dog should be able to come when called to a stranger on stage, and return backstage to handler (owner). Our directors are looking for a warm-hearted, fun-loving, and energetic dog that has a special bond with his/her handler. Remember heart, courage, and wisdom!
Appointments are not required, any dogs who join us will be seen, and no breed of dogs will be turned away...weβre an equal opportunity employer here!

April 5 - 9 | Tech rehearsals. Limited daytime hours may be required. *
